    These presentations include a series of lessons (lectures) for the MICRO ECONOMICS course, which is the result of teaching the course for many  years, where the content has been adapted to the ministerial program set, to be available either in its paper version at the level of libraries or in its electronic version at the level of specialized websites for this purpose to help students and those interested in this subject to understand more and prepare for more advanced future academic and professional levels

    The

  In the end  of this lesson, students will be able to:

  Economic actors refer to the participants in economic activities in an economy. They use productive resources and interact with each other with their respective motives and compensation, involving the flow of goods and income. Synonym market participants are economic agents.

    Elements that make up a circular flow

    Would you like to know what are the elements that make up one of the most important concepts in economics? Discover them below so that you can understand how this diagram works: 

    1. Companies

    It's impossible for a country's economy to function if we don't have companies that produce the basic goods that allow us to subsist. That's why many specialists consider companies to be a fundamental indicator of the financial scale of a nation.

    At the end of the day, companies generate products, services and jobs for the population, a population that exchanges them for time and workforce, which allows them to obtain money to satisfy their daily needs. 

    Thus, we could say that it's the first win-win relationship that ever existed in the story of humanity.

    2. Household economies

    This is the group of people who have human capital, money, equipment and land and sell them to investors or businessmen to exploit commercially. 

    3. Public sector

    The government is a key factor in the functioning of the circular flow diagram. 

    Its job is to keep the peace for all economic agents and it obtains revenues by collecting taxes. Once they receive the resources, they have the obligation to return it to the population through subsidies, public services, security, infrastructure and economic policies that give stability to the whole country. 

    3. Foreign sector

    The last element of the circular flow is the foreign sector: since the time of the cavemen, people have realized that they need to work together with individuals from other areas in order to survive.

    This is where exports and imports come into play and strongly influence the circular flow of a country's income.

    If you think about it, the same thing happens with personal finances.

  Economic growth refers to an increase in the size of a country's economy over a period of time. The size of an economy is typically measured by the total production of goods and services in the economy, which is called gross domestic product (GDP).

  
  

  

  

  

  EXAMPLE

  Suppose that in year 1, the volume of apples produced was 100kg and the price of apples was $2 per kg, so the total value of production was $200 (100 x $2).   In this example, nominal GDP growth (6.6 per cent) is more than real GDP growth (4 per cent) because it includes the increase in prices over the period. (The sum of the growth rates of real GDP and prices is close to, but not exactly equal to, the growth rate of nominal GDP.)

  • Economic Development Forum

    In the presence of uncertainty about what a country can be good at producing, there can be great social value to discovering costs of domestic activities because such discoveries can be easily imitated. We develop a general-equilibrium framework for a small open economy to clarify the analytical and normative issues. We highlight two failures of the laissez-faire outcome: there is too little investment and entrepreneurship ex ante, and too much production diversification ex post. Optimal policy consists of counteracting these distortions: to encourage investments in the modern sector ex ante, but to rationalize production ex post. We provide some informal evidence on the building blocks of our model.

    Pricing is done according to several methods 1- Pricing based on value for the consumer: This method is based on a simple idea, which is that the consumer is the one who will judge the price of the product, and therefore pricing must be consistent with the consumer's perception of value. The consumer pays a value (price) in exchange for obtaining a value (the benefit of the product or service) 2- Cost-based pricing method: This is one of the most common methods, as the cost is relied upon to determine the price of the product with the addition of a percentage or margin representing the profit of the company or organization. An organization may rely on adding a percentage to the average cost of the product. 3- Competition-based pricing: It is based on determining prices based on competitors' marketing strategies, costs, prices and offers. Consumers here evaluate the value of products based on the prices of similar products available with competitors.
