This course include a series of units followed by a set of activities which collectively cover the three learning areas of obtaining, processing and presenting information. The activity sets are in turn followed by Quick Quiz, a section consisting of questions based on short linear and non-linear texts. Each unit concludes with an enrichment section that includes one or more related activities that challenge students and extend the skills and knowledge they have acquired. Classifying, comparing, describing, stating cause and effect,  hypothesizing, defining, exemplifying, giving evidence, giving instructions, establishing visual verbal relationships and predicting are often encountered in this scientific discourse. Thinking skills, particularly information transfer, are emphasized. Activities for writing and presenting information are also included.English Doctorate 219
