Ex Post Facto Design

A quantitative design that examines cause-and-effect relationships retrospectively using existing data or conditions.

Experimental Design

A quantitative design that tests causality by manipulating variables with randomization and control.

Explanatory Sequential Design

A mixed methods design that collects quantitative data first, followed by qualitative data to explain results.

Exploratory Sequential Design

A mixed methods design that starts with qualitative data to explore, then uses quantitative data to test findings.
