    The course is an overview of language teaching approaches and methods. It consists of an introductory lecture in which basic terms are defined to enable students to distinguish between an approach, a method and a technique. It is followed by a series of lectures about the different approaches and methods. They include ; the GTM, the reform movement , the DM, the ALM, CLT, TBLT, CBLT , the humanistic approaches and the eclectic method.

    Objectives

    Students are expected to develop an awareness of the underlying principles of the different language teaching approaches and methods.
