Course scope
This course provides different definitions of the speaking skill. It contains information about the skill's nature, its components and characteristics that distinguish it from the other skills. The course gives an insight on the relationship between speaking and the other language skills: listening, writing and reading. It also sheds some light on the importance of teaching the speaking skill, beides to the factors that affect the students' oral performance and the role that EFL teachers play in enhancing their students' speaking skill.
