Course Goals:

Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (e.g., personal information, shopping, work, leisure).

Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information.

Describe in simple terms aspects of your background, immediate environment, and basic needs.

Develop listening comprehension for short, clear, and slow speech.

Read and understand short, simple texts such as messages, notices, and personal letters.

Write simple texts about everyday topics, including short notes and emails.

Expand vocabulary related to daily life and common situations.

Use basic grammar structures: present, past, and future tenses; modals like can/should; simple connectors.
Target public:
Oum ElBouaghi University Teachers from different faculties, institutes, and departments.
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of English (A1 level): ability to understand and use simple expressions and sentences.
Ability to introduce yourself and communicate in familiar situations.
Basic grammar knowledge: verb “to be,” present simple, simple questions and negatives.
Ability to read and write very short, simple texts.
Willingness to expand vocabulary related to daily life and common situations.
Syllabus:

Skills: Listening, speaking, reading, and writing simple texts.
Grammar: Present, past, and basic future tenses; modals (can, should); comparatives and superlatives; simple connectors.
Vocabulary: Daily life topics – family, work, hobbies, travel, food; describing people, places, objects.
Communication: Role-plays, simple dialogues, asking/answering questions, pronunciation practice.
Assessment: Quizzes, speaking practice, writing tasks, and a final test.
